Serve Our Schools

SOS is a new effort, combining the youth groups of all 37 Serve The City churches.  SOS stands for Serve Our Schools and it involves mobilizing teenagers to be actively involved in Prayer, Care, and Share in the “mission field” of their schools. 

Here’s the plan…

One Wednesday a month we will declare “SOS Day,” where students will be encouraged to do three things:

1.   Wear the really cool SOS t-shirt to identify themselves in unity.

2.   Do a significant service project for the school (car wash, food giveaway, 
      cafeteria cleanup, appreciation events, spontaneous celebrations, etc.)

3.   Invite onlookers to come visit their own youth group or church that night. 

It’s that simple! 
SOS is intended to be entirely student-led, with adults to help cast vision, encourage, and resource the students’ efforts.

The success of any individual school’s efforts will depend on the time, commitment, and passion invested by the Christian students there.
